I'm a big fan of foaming soaps for the home. They do a great job of cleaning and you don't get any wasted soap when you ge to the bottom of the bottle. We usually purchase Bath and Body Works foam soaps, which are fantastic. We recently tried this Dial soap since it was cheaper than B&BW. The smell is nice and the shape of the bottle is fine. There is one major problem though- the way they designed the bottle, you can only get a full pump, and it's a lot of soap that comes out. With the B&BW bottles, you can push down the top slightly if you only want a little soap, or push it down fully if you want more. The design of the Dial pump ensures that the bottle will not last very long. We've only had it for a week and it's disappearing quickly. In the future, we will wait for B&BW sales and purchase their foaming soaps.

The idea for a foaming soap is to reduce the time it takes for washing your hands. Instead of trying to work on a lather, a foaming soap is already made up of soap suds. Foaming liquid soap is generally thinner and watery, or else it will clog the mechanism to produce suds. You can buy refills in bigger containers. Or some people are successful in mixing water and other liquid soaps.

Dial makes a lot of foaming soap products including Tone. A 7.5 oz bottle lasts a long time. More convenient than a regular soap for your powder room and sinks. It is also less messy than regular soaps. Generally one pump is enough to cover both hands. Just make sure that you cup your hands or the soap will spurt across the room. One wrong pump is all that it takes to learn how to use a foaming soap dispenser.

Costco carried brooms for a number of years, and they were really good, solid brooms. I'm in construction and the Costco brooms were excellent. These brooms are ok. Much lighter, and less dense than the Costco brooms. The price is about the same $8+-. The bristles on these brooms have bent quickly. They are not really heavy duty. I'm going to look at Grainger next. I miss my Costco broom!

I ordered two of these brooms for a theatrical production beacuse they have the traditional look we needed--not a bit of plastic,they are beautifully made with nice wood and well contructed natural bristles. The price made these an outstanding value for the money. The broom handles are quite long, so we easily cut one down to our desired size. The only thing to be aware of is that the loose bristles will fall out the first few times you use the broom.

I have a combination of hardwood floors, area rugs and carpet in my home. I wanted a small hand held sweeper to use inbetween the time I use my vacuum to pick up the dirt that my dog and I drag in especially on the hardwood areas. Most of the sweepers were electrical either battery or wall outlet which I did not want but the handheld sweeper I was looking at (Bissell) received complaints about the handle coming off. My wet Swiffer Sweeper suffers from this problem which is a pain so decided I would have to go to electric power but did not want the corded models. Found numerous reviews that praised this item including the ability to obtain a replacement battery ($14.95). It works great and even picks up some dog hairs to the point that I have to clean the brushes after two or three uses. The tray for dirt is small but easy to empty. You will know when the tray is full or the brushes are clogged with hair as it stops picking up the dirt. Cleaning the brushes is also easy with the tool provided in the box. Be sure not to through out the foam packaging until you locate the small brush cleaning tool (I almost did). I especially like the way in which the unit can be manuvered without having to lift it to change directions plus the ability to get under low furniture. I'm not sure about battery life but seems to be less than advertised however my first charge was only for 8 hours. Have just finished charging in for 24 so will see how long it lasts. One important point to remember is that this is not a vacuum for deep cleaning but a sweeper. Overall, this is just what I wanted, a cordless sweeper for surface dirt except for having to charge it but would rather have to charge it than put up with a handle that keeps coming off.

This product delivers what it promises! I used it with a microfiber mop that you just wet the pad in the sink. No buckets and mess. It is so simple you just squirt it on the floor and mop over it.

I used the cleaner first on my Congolium and Wood floors. Then I used the Floor Finish and it dries shiney but not slippery. My floors look like new.

I am very well pleased with the product.

My only complaint is the Marketplace seller here that I got it from didn't seen the stated 2 books with the product.

The kit is a good value compaired to purchasing each one seperate.

I have used the Hanover House lemon oil for years and it is also a good product and cleans your woodwork and wood furniture very well leaving a nice shine. Be sure not to use too much on the cloth as a little goes a long way.

"Great Little Soap, But I Question It's True Scientific Purity" 2010-01-13

I definitely believe the advertisement that this stuff contains volcanic pumice, since indeed it can be felt gently cleaning my hands and wrists with its sweet-natured, mild (yet sassy) abrasiveness. When finished washing them, my hands feel not just very well cleaned, but like entirely new hands altogether. Almost as if I had just received a handskin transplant, just with a lot less fuss and at a fraction of the cost. They also smell a little perdy, which is a bonus, if you know what I mean. >8^]

My only wonder here is how pure this little miracle-working soap really is. Lava Soap comes from the makers of WD-40, who are based in San Diego, CA. As I understand it, one of the primary ingredients in WD-40 is fish oil. This makes sense to me since San Diego is near the water, and on average fish indeed tend to reside in water. But what about San Diego's location relative to volcanoes? I don't think it's close to any; any at all. Surely it's close to many fault lines, so indeed it frequently experiences earthquakes; however, Lava Soap is not made out of earthquake powder, so this doesn't really help me on my quest for finding out about its purity.

The only way that I can think of for this company to find readily available amounts of pumice in this quantity is to aimlessly wonder the globe in search of volcano sites. There must be plenty of volcanoes out there, because we keep hearing about them on the news, as they supposedly "erupt" and "kill people" or even "bury entire cities". Which brings to mind Mount Vesuvius, which apparently was responsible for burying the city of Pompeii over 2000 years ago back in ancient times (I wasn't there personally, so I don't know for sure what really happened; I'm taking it all on some extremely heavy heresay). But what I do know for sure, is that if this company is extracting any pumice from the Mount Vesuvius region, or any other region whose inhabitants at one point or another had been buried by an erupting volcano, it had better not be digging down too deeply for that pumice. Not only would that be disturbing and disrespecting those buried civilizations, but, worse yet, it would be putting itself at increased risk of inadvertently drudging up some of those buried remnants and accidently bottling them up into their soaps. And now you see exactly why I voice my concerns about the purity...

Alas, that brings up an even larger dilemma: the makeup and purity of ALL consumer items. For who knows what's really in the products we use, let alone the food we eat. I'm sure somebody somewhere really knows, but they aint speakin' since they want to keep their jobs.

Also, is it just me, or is it a little ironic that the Pompeiians didn't even have a word for 'volcano'?

In the past when I came across poison ivy and knew it had touched my skin, I stopped whatever I was doing, went inside, and scrubbed with Pumice-Power Lava Soap.

You can see right there on the product package--a volcano. Pumice comes from the lava produced by volcanoes, directly providing the name of the soap. Pumice evidently lightly abraids poison ivy's resin trying to burn blisters into my extremely sensitive skin. After all, in a spa or other beauty agency, pumice stones are used to rub off that ugly, excess skin that congregates on one's feet. So imagine a soap bar as a pumice stone, which it is, in a way.

Another product has been recommended to me as a cleanser of poison ivy/oak residue--Dial #04303 5.5oz Fels-Naptha Bar, but I have since learned that it contains mineral spirits, a damaging skin ingredient.

As for a foul-mouth cleaning product, I recommend Ivory Bar Soap, Original - 3.1 Oz, 3 Pack. If it doesn't burn eyes, then it won't burn a mouth, at least no more than those words did. I'm living to tell about it.

Back to Lava Soap. I keep two soap dishes at my bathroom sink--one for a mild hand soap and one for my handy Lava Soap. I feel perfectly safe in using this cleanser. It contains pumice--a nice abrasive, and is made by WD-40 Company, maker of one of the best known lubricants, probably in the world. Pumice and lubricant--a great combination in ridding one of grease, grime, and poison ivy resin.

I wonder how Lava would be for de-fouling?

I used to be an automotive adjuster for a major insurance company. I always see this soap in most of the mechanic shop and bodyshops. I bought a few of them to try at home. It is very effective especially if you are the handyman type who loves to tinker with cars, house projects or just love to dig your hands in the dirty stuff. Works fast it removing grease and oil from your hands and skin. The pumice really works wonders. May seem to be a bit expensive, but not for a specialty soap.

I normally avoid any infomercial-type products like the plague, but I decided to try this broom out after hearing it praised so highly in Ellen Sandbeck's book Organic Housekeeping: In Which the Non-Toxic Avenger Shows You How to Improve Your Health and That of Your Family, While You Save Time, Money, and, Perhaps, Your Sanity. Well, color me impressed!

The broom has quite a large head and a telescoping handle, which extends quite a ways at its full length and is very compact at its shortest length. In fact, one of my few complaints is that the head may be a tiny bit TOO large for my taste -- a slightly smaller model may work better in the kitchen, with this size suited a bit more to the basement or outdoor tasks. The telescoping handle is nice; you just twist to tighten or release it. I do find that if I'm not careful when I'm sweeping, I'll inadvertently grab the twisty part (that's the technical term for it!) and collapse the handle.

Sweeping with this broom is AWESOME! Well, as awesome as sweeping can be ... One problem I always had with a regular broom is that dog hair would go floating merrily across the floor, making it tough to get every last bit. But with the rubber broom, the hair tends to clump up in a neat little pile. The broom also works well on my rugs -- handy when I went to get the pet hair off them but don't feel like dragging out the vacuum.

I've also used the broom to mop, with great results. I had been using a Swiffer Wet Jet, with pretty good results, but the refills get pricey, and I felt bad about the amount of waste I was creating. Now I just use a couple rubber bands to attach an old, damp hand towel to the rubber broom. It works great, and the best part is that it's easy to take off the towel and put a fresh one on, so you're not just spreading dirt all over the floor. I also find that the rubber broom/towel combo seems to get the floor a bit cleaner than the smoother Swiffer pads -- very handy when you have a large dog and a toddler who loves to throw food. (Bonus -- I mop more frequently now, since I don't worry about "wasting" my Swiffer pads!)

You know, as far as being versatile, this was a good buy. I mean, just the value of the different cleaning pads made it worth the price. It gets 3 stars because its awkward. The broom keeps that bend so, it takes some getting used to. I could see the advantage of the bend in using the cleaning pads, but unless you are brushing a wall, shelf, fan, or something else above your head, the broom is very hard to use. In being "green" I wanted one tool to do it all. I had just gotten hard wood floors installed and wanted something that I could use on the floor as well as above the head surfaces. Well... 1 out of 2 ain't bad??? LOL!

Anyway, you get exactly what you see only the handle does stretch out to a full size (which they don't show), so, it does have a great reach on it. But, if you're looking for something that does the floors too, buy something else! Or, maybe you get used to sweeping this way. I didn't send it back because I can use it for other things, but I did buy something else to sweep the floors with.

We received one of these bad boys as a gift, and I have to admit i was suspicious of it at first. Generally when you get a three-in-one kind of product you end up with three inferior versions of the three separate items it's intended to replace. That's not entirely true with this model--you get a handy duster with excellent reach. However, the other functions seem entirely tacked on. Due to the weird angle between the head and handle, it's impossible to get much force behind it. You can sweep adequately with an uncomfortable side to side kind of motion, but for mopping it's completely useless. At best, you can sort of light wipe surfaces, which usually doesn't disturb any attached grime too much. Also, both broom and mop are completely impossible to get into difficult spaces.

This was clearly designed as a duster, and then had more "features" attached to make it "better." Note to all designers: more features does not equal better, it just makes the infomercial longer.

if you buy this broom plan to purchase a new handle right away.. it's flimsy and feels like it will break at any second. brush head seems fine, but without a handle it doesn't really matter. take a pass on this one and save yourself some aggravation.

Brush works great but the only part I wasn't 100% pleased with is that I received a bent wooden handle. The long wooden handle has a curve to it if you look down its length. Overall it doesn't affect its performance if you screw the handle in so the curve bends like a camels back down to the broom brush. If you have the curve to the left or the right when your pushing it bends more & is harder to push forward when pushing much sand or gravel away from the cement.

The brush itself works great, some of the bristles fall out here and there but doesn't wear fast overall. If I didn't receive a bent handle I am sure I would have fully approved this product.

The last time I bought a push broom was when I bought our house over 30 years ago. Almost needless to say, the old push broom was just a vestige of it's former self. I had been meaning to buy another one for at least the last decade, but you know how those things go. Finally, we were in our local hardware store and my wife picked out a new push broom and ordered me to buy it.

Our new broom is a Quickie 18" Bull Dozer push broom. I gave it a good workout this afternoon. It's made completely out of various plastics, and I'm prone to like the more natural materials. We'll see. I'd say it works rather well for both heavy debris and finer dust. I guess this ability is provided by two different kinds of bristles and I'd have to regard it as well designed. The handle can be installed in two different directions, so the brush can be worn evenly and not develop a distinct asymmetry as my old one did. My only criticism would be that it cost too much, but maybe it'll be worth it in the long run

Yes, it is just a broom attachment, you need to buy the handle seperately. It does a great job pushing all the gunk along, from dead bugs to leaves to dirt. I did not completely read the Amazon description, which is somewhat misleading, (the yellow casing of the red bristles is actually 14 and 1/2 inches wide; depth 2 inches), and I was expecting a full size push broom thing, like you see janitors use. I believe that size would be more appropriate for outdoor use. Anyway it does such a good job, and since it is smaller than I thought, I just might get another for use on hard floor surfaces in my home. I bought the aluminum handle which is ightweight. Both the handle and connection gizmo seem very sturdy, and I hope these qualities last over time.

I work with a band in Austin. I bought this brush for the guys to help them clean their dirty instruments. I found that it works really great for this type of cleaning. I was able to clean the crevices of the entire horn section easily and efficiently, and it really helped to have the light to shine underneath the keys and such. Also, it was great for cleaning between frets, underneath the string, and around the tuners for the guitars and bass. Again, it was great for cleaning/dusting between all the nuts and bolts of the drums, and around the edges of the drum heads! I also used it to dust between the keys of the piano. I'm not sure if the guys appreciate having clean instruments but, as a girl, I have a better peace of mind knowing things aren't grungy!!!! And what a great price!!

I have some nice size rags leftover from various sheets.. towels.. things like that that I wet, ring out and put on the floor.. if I want to I pour the cleaner of my choice right on the rag and push it around with the broom. The broom feature picks up everything from off the floor with minimal effort and obviously no use of electricity, no nasty chemical cleaners, no gross vacuum bags to be cleaned. When we used the squeegie-like side with a small amount of solution of water, vinegar and soap, it did a wonderful job cleaning our wood floors. The only thing needed is a little towel to wipe up the remaining water. It is a great household item that is also environmentally friendly! This was touted as being good for picking up pet hair. I run a cat rescue organization and used it on hard surfaces with lots and lots of cat fur. It worked no better than the average broom I buy at the dollar store. It is also very heavy and the bristles are so stiff they won't get into corners or tight places very well. For the price, you can buy a dozen brooms at the dollar store over time and get better results.

I have a mix of several types of uncarpeted floors and a few throw rugs. And two cats and the amazing shedding dog: long, wavy blond hairs. The broom doesn't do a better job for me than any other type. The rubber bristles do not "attract the pet hair like a magnet." In fact the pet hair kind of blows away in front of it, stirred up, as with any other broom, by the air currents caused by the sweeping.

It might be good to review how to best pack this admittedly difficult-shaped object for shipping. I got the broom and the first thing I used it for was to sweep up some plastic pieces that had broken off from the base during shipping (the packaging was essentially sticky plastic sheeting wrapped around the broom twice). The broom works well and I'm not going to bother returning it, but there wasn't the normal "ooh, something new" feeling . . .

It nearly killed me to pay $20 for a broom but I was looking for something better than the rest so thought I'd gamble and try the Good Grips since I like their other products. It's kind of small which suits me because I'm smallish (5' - 4") and I do not have any vast expanses of hard floors to sweep. This one is easy to maneuver around chair legs, under tables, and into corners. It might be uncomfortably small and/or short for tall people or those who have very large areas to clean. I give it four stars because it's not all that extraordinary except in the looks department. Hopefully it will last forever and if it does then I'll know I did not waste my money.

I ordered the Orange colored version of the Casabella Compact Carpet Sweeper from Amazon after browsing all the reviewes. I ordered 1 Orange colored one and the confirmation email from the Amazon clearly showed the yellow one was ordered. However, the one with totally wrong color, which was blue and grey, was delivered. I called the Stacks and Stacks customer service. They asked me to foward the Amazon order confirmation email to verify the yellow one was really ordered. So I did. They told me it was correct and they would pick it up and credit (not refund) my Amazon account. So I asked for replacement for the yellow one. But they said they only have blue ones. Well... Why the heck they even asked me to fowared the email when I called about the wrong color? The AMAZON needs to replace the picture of the product on their web page too. This is very deceptive. The yellow one was even $4 more expensice than the blue one. If I knew if the blue one would be shipped even for odering the yellow one, I would order the blue one from the beginning which is cheaper. It sucks.

Because I didn't want to go through all the process of returning and getting the credit back (not the refund again), I just decided to use the blue one. It works great either on carpet or on hardwood but I just dont like the color. I just hate that the Amazon and the Stacks and Stacks companies were deceiving customers. Did I say it sucked? So here goes my 1 star.

The product I received WAS different than pictured. The colors were different--dark blue and gray instead of light blue/white/yellow as pictured. I actually prefer the item I received to the picture, so no complaints for that. The colors were the only difference. And the word "Casabella" was still written on the sweeper in the same font, in the same place. Very clean, modern design.

It was easily put together despite the confusing instructions.

I searched the product descriptions and reviews for this and other similar carpet sweepers looking for one that a small child could use as well. This sweeper can be used easily by my 2 year old. There are 3 metal poles that screw together to form the handle. If you leave one out, it becomes the perfect height for a small child.

I've been impressed with its ability to pick up dirt as well. No, it probably won't replace a vacuum (difficult to get the edges next to a wall, as I'm sure is common with all carpet sweepers)--but it does pick up dirt very well.

I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend it to a friend.

First saw one of these at the hair salon I go to and thought it was super cool.

When we ripped our carpet in our living room and went with acid-stained concrete, I loved the look but HATED all the dust and was frustrated by constantly bending over with a dust pan. Now, I keep this awesome contraption hidden behind a chair and simply sweep it over and it sucks everything up.

I understand the design of the broom/dustpan is such that the broom will snap into the dustpan. But that seems more gimmicky than anything else, because it creates more inconvenience than it saves. The broom is too small; its suitable only for sweeping a pile of dirt into the dustpan. You have to buy another separate broom for the actual sweeping part.

I don't know if the problem was the faulty engineering of the hand pump bottle, or the packaging by the sender, but the pump handle is supposed to lock down when in a non-use mode and prevent soap from coming out. When I opened the package, one of the pump handles was not locked and the inside of the package was a gooey mess and half the product was gone from the bottle. I tried the lock-down on the handle and it wouldn't lock, so I think the problem is the manufacturer's, In shipping, the bumping around had managed to pump out half the contents. When ordering, be sure to tell this supplier that they must tape the handle down or something to prevent this. I sent the product back.

I have owned a Perfect Sweep Turbo for three years. It works well on tile and low-pile rugs. Occasionally it won't pick up something in the grout, but, overall, it's quicker than a broom.

One thing that impedes the operation is an accumulation of fibers on the bristles of the corner brushes and on the main rotor brush. The fibers stick up from the bristles on the rotor brush and keep new dust and dirt from entering the dirt cup. The secret is to pull off the fibers from the bristles regularly.

If the sweeping time decreases, it's a sign the battery has built up charging resistance. Let the battery fully discharge and then recharge it.

I learned about the charging resistance after one of the reviewers of Perfect Sweep Turbo on Amazon complained that the battery didn't last long. Because of that review, when my sweeper slowed down after three years, I thought I needed a new sweeper - so I bought one. When I read the instructions for the new sweeper, I found out about the built-up charging resistance. Now I own two working sweepers!

We bought two of these a couple of years ago and think they are THE BEST for getting all of the dust on a wooden floor in one sweeping. We lent one to my daughter for her dog's hair. She was so impressed that she got rid of her rugs and bought two because these are so good at sweeping up dog hair on wood floors as well as dust. We bought two more because the heads kept falling off of the first version if you aren't careful. The four we both just bought have a much stronger plastic head connection. The head will not come off of these! Buy one if you have wooden floors with a lot of traffic.

I've had more than one of these. They work great to get water/dirt off the garage floor (especially useful in the winter time with melting snow off the vehicle). The floor is basically dry after taking the sqeegie side over it. It also works great for cleaning up fine dirt such as saw dust, coal dust, etc. I like it better than a regular broom because I don't end up stirring up the dust and breathing so much in.

I haven't used it on carpet.

The only downfall is if you apply too much pressure, the head will eventually snap off the handle. This has happened to 2 of ours. However, for the price it isn't a bad deal.

Its a lot of hard work but good results! you have go go to your home improvement store and buy a dawl rod- but that was ok. You insert the rod and tack in a small nail.... a screw works better.

Heres the thing, you have to exert alot of manual labor, it is what it says.... Rake. You are literally raking your carpet and it takes some energy out of you!! I have done it, and i do it all the time. I LOVE this product, not love like my favorite purse, but love like... Like, a good tool that's a necessity around the house.

I live in a apartment with crappy apartment carpet. In all the walkways and where the dog sleeps i sprinkle Arm & Hammer baking soda rake it into the carpets, then 30 min or so later (usually the next day) I vacuum it up. My carpets stay lighter and fluffier until they need it again. I does and excellent job at pulling out years worth of dirt that had never been gotten by my vacuum alone.

I give it 5 stars and a must have tool around the house!!

If you are reading this it's probably because you've realized that most dustpans are annoyingly BAD and you're hoping to find a better one. This dustpan overcomes my cheif complaints: it doesn't have a rubber strip to warp and become difficult to use and it actually allows you to sweep everything off the floor and into the dustpan. So simple in its perfection. The brush is also quite nice and storage is easy. This little bit of improvement to your day is definitely worth the money.
